I can't help but notice that this song has continued to find a way into my life over and over again these last few weeks. On my way to work there is a good chance that I am listening to the radio station 102.5, and so often this is where I hear this amazing song. And as I listen to the lyrics that Matthew West is singing I am reminded that in this world we all have a purpose. We were all created to "Do Something."

As I finish the final steps before leaving for Malawi in March, the more real this adventure becomes. I am so thankful for the opportunity God has blessed me with to go and serve in a country where people depend on their faith to survive. A common question I have been asked lately is, "Are you still going, now that Ebola is a factor?" And my answer to that is, why wouldn't I be? Now more than ever may be a better time for me to go and serve in Africa. These people need help, and do not deserve to die because medical services and supplies are not available to them. If I had the opportunity to leave now, and specifically go and help the people in Western Africa, I would be on a plane in a heartbeat. And I know I have family and friends that would be right there beside me.

*(However, don't misunderstand me. The Peace Corps' number one priority is keeping the volunteers safe, and so if there is any concern about this issue I will not be going to Malawi. They have removed many, if not all, Peace Corps Volunteers who are in concerning countries.)

At church on Sunday the Pastor talked about sacrifice. He talked about the sacrifices that Christians make in order to follow Jesus. Sometimes these sacrifices are not easy, and even more these sacrifices are often not made by people who claim to be followers of Jesus. Sacrifices like belongings, or maybe your time, or what God is calling you to do. The sermon talked about when you make these sacrifices for the glory of Jesus, God will give you Life. I just thought that was pretty neat :) How amazing of a gift to be given, by someone so Holy. And this is a great reminder as to the sacrifices we should be making.

Refering back to the song, people often ask, "If there is a God, why are there so many who suffer in this world." And that is a question that I sometimes wonder myself. But then I remember that God has given us an answer to help stop these sufferings, and that answer is us. God created us, in His Image, so we can go and save the world through Him. So listen to this song, listen to what God is telling your heart, pray about it, and go DO SOMETHING.

Share the Light. Peace. Love. Music.

May the Glory always be for Him.
