The Blessing of Travel

I can't believe we already leave for Honduras in little over a month. Alisha has been working very hard on an itinerary and I think everything is almost set in place. We just need to reserve some places to sleep and we're golden. This opportunity to spend almost a month in a country that I've never been is a huge blessing. And on top of that it may be the last month I have before I leave for the Peace Corps for 27 months. Who would have thought that I'd fill my "last month at home" by traveling somewhere way far away from the little town of Poynette, WI, where I grew up? Well if you know me at all, then you shouldn't be too surprised. Traveling is such a passion of mine. A passion I am lucky enough to share with my sister, Alisha. She, and a couple of our friends will also be flying down to Central America beside me. But it isn't just the traveling part that steals away my heart....its the new culture, the different way of life, the foreign language, the people, the food. The food, yes the food haha. These are the things that I crave when I have the opportunity to go somewhere new. God has created so many different people and places in our "small" world, and there is so much to see. So many things to capture while looking through the lens of a camera.
While in Honduras we plan to visit 4 different places. If you don't know, Honduras is about the same size as Virginia. The areas we will be venturing around in are The Ruins, La Cieba, and the islands Utila, and Roatan. While there we plan to hike, scuba dive, swim, and EXPLORE, all while staying in Hostels and trying to soak up every bit of this new culture as we can. We are very excited and again thank God for the ability to have an experience like this one.
